PRIVACY & POLICIES

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.Exceptions to Confidentiality include:

•Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

•If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s,I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

•If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.

PAYMENT

Payment for services is due the same day of service, as if you were coming into the physical office.

In advance of your session, we will discuss your payment method and I will advise of the procedure. Payments can be made using Credit Cards, PayPal and Venmo.

  • At this time, I am accepting the following insurance providers:
  • Cigna
  • TriCare
  • Optum
  • United Behavioral Health
  • For others, check back with Michelle to see if others have been credentialed.

Please consider when using your insurance:

I am required to provide a mental health diagnosis to your insurance company. Some diagnosis may or may not be covered by your insurance provider,  depending on the diagnosis.

Insurance companies may  limit the number of sessions you can receive.  It is common to be authorized for 6, 8, 10, 12 sessions depending on your insurance provider.

It is important to phone your insurance company and be informed.  ASK:  1) what provider carries your behavioral health services and  2) what is your deductible and number of allowable sessions.

I am happy to assist you, in accessing your behavioral health coverage information.

CANCELATION POLICY

Please cancel in advance as a courtesy to other waiting clients and to the therapists’ schedule. Cancellations are required at least 24 hours in advance to allow for someone else to benefit from that hour if needed. It’s a stressful time for so many people right now, and I feel that it’s important to provide availability for someone, the same way you might need an impromptu session as well and might check in to see availability.
